Investment Banking Associate

Position Description

You will be initially assigned to an industry group or to Mergers and Acquisitions. You will work under the overall direction of a senior officer in a group of experienced professionals as they generate ideas, advise clients and execute transactions.

In this capacity you will:

  • research and analyze clients’ financial situations, industry and market data, identify, research and analyze merger and acquisition opportunities;
  • develop valuation models of individual private and public companies as well as merged entities;
  • assist with client negotiations and documentation;
  • prepare external client proposals and internal underwriting memos; and
  • prepare and contribute to delivery of client presentations based upon the above.

In addition you will:

  • aid senior team members with idea generation;
  • manage and review work of analysts;
  • develop internal relationships in order to leverage products and services provided by TD Bank Financial Group.

Location: Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, New York

Qualifications

MBA graduate with work experience, although not necessarily in a finance-related role. You should have a combination of strong financial/analytical skills, excellent communications abilities and be adept at financial modeling and valuation. You must be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Professional Development

This role involves a series of rotations throughout different industry and product groups and typically leads to more senior positions in Investment Banking.
