Morning meeting! We gather to discuss broad economic trends and events, give sector updates and talk about specific companies before the start of the trading day.

The European markets are in full swing and I monitor news and performance on stocks we own in the financial sector. Since I cover EAFE stocks, there has been a full day of market activity in Asia that I need to catch up on.

Update my group's internal spreadsheets for some trades that my Managing Director made in several of our funds yesterday. We use these spreadsheets as analytical tools in the investment decision making and portfolio management process.

Lunch meeting with the management team of a large European bank holding a roadshow here in Toronto.

My Managing Director asks me to run a custom stock selection screen based on a number of different factors affecting industry returns right now.

Put the finishing touches on an analysis of a new company we are considering buying. I think the stock is too expensive, and am recommending holding off until it is lower.

Dial into a conference call held by a broker; the topic of discussion is expectations for quarterly earnings results in the financial sector due to be released over the next couple of weeks.

Monthly EAFE meeting - we analyze the performance of our funds and discuss portfolio strategies.

Gather broker reports and do some independent research in order to prepare for a meeting with a sell-side analyst tomorrow.

Time to head out, tomorrow will be an interesting day with several closely followed economic indicators due to be released.
