Read the Financial Post on my way to work. It is interesting to understand how the markets and different events in the business world affect my week.

Take a look at the preliminary figures and investigate any potential limit breaches for the policies that I monitor. Run the analysis tools to get a detailed attribution of which deals are driving the VaR breach. Advise the Reporting team if any changes need to be made.

Run the preliminary macros, download and review the data and generate the reports. Identify any metrics that are in excess of the policy limits and start to drill down. Send an email to the Profit and Loss analyst to help me investigate the Stop Loss breach.

Have lunch with my mentor, Eric. It's been extremely valuable to have a Vice President to advise me on the questions and issues that arise in the course of my work term.

Analyze and double-check my reports for reasonability and ensure large daily swings can be explained. My report shows a significant change in the interest rate deltas so I will have to investigate. Once all details are confirmed I can publish the reports and follow up with any outstanding emails.

My project is right on track! I'm really enjoying working to make my tasks more efficient. It's a great feeling to be involved with firm-wide initiatives.

Market Risk Control has just sent a request; I need to analyze the data and explain the weekly movement. I will send my response to my manager to get her input and approval. I'll then update the email and send the final response to Market Risk Control.

The next Associates meeting is coming up fast. The meetings have been a great place to connect with the other Associates to discuss common issues and share experiences about current rotations.

The day just flew by. Looking forward to starting fresh tomorrow!
