Loan Sales and Trading

TD Securities’ Loan Sales and Trading Group, based in New York, is the principal distribution arm supporting the Leveraged Finance business.

The group works with the Debt Capital Markets team and the bankers in our offices across Canada, the U.S. and Europe to originate, underwrite and distribute debt offerings for leveraged transactions. In addition, we conduct secondary trading of loans, acting as principal. 

We also execute sales and purchases on behalf of other areas managing TD loan portfolios, specifically TD Portfolio Management, Credit Risk Management and other business units.

With over 25 years of experience executing leveraged debt financings, TD Securities is a niche player with a strong presence in select industries including media and communications, forest products, oil & gas and energy having underwritten in excess of $100 billion of new offerings for clients in the past 5 years. We have an exceptional track record in both underwriting and distribution. A fully-staffed team of 14 professionals, including traders, sales and analysts, provides world-class distribution and trading capabilities.  The group’s senior members have on average 15+ years of market experience.

TD is a market maker in media and communications, oil & gas, energy, forest products, as well as other deals widely traded in the broader North American and European markets through active relationships with more than 400 investors in the United States, Canada, and Europe.
