Who can use TDFX?

TDFX is a service offered to small business, commercial and corporate clients with a TD Securities banking relationship.

Do I still have access to my FX trader?

Yes. TDFX is an alternative delivery channel intended to complement the quality of service that your TD Securities trader currently provides.

Can I trade on behalf of more than one company?

Yes. TDFX provides you with the ability to trade on behalf of multiple companies with a single user ID and password.

Can more than one person trade on behalf of my company?

Yes. Signing officers of the company have the option to designate whomever they wish to have access to TDFX. Each user is given their own user ID and password.

How much does it cost to use TDFX?

There is no charge to use this service.

How do I get started?

Speak to your FX Trader to find out if you qualify to trade online. If you qualify, your trader will process a request to set you up on TDFX. You will receive an email notification from TDFX when you have been activated.

How do I sign in to TDFX?

Upon receipt of your application, a user ID will be forwarded to your email account. Please contact your FX trader for your temporary password.

Am I committed to the trade when I request a rate?

No. When a rate is requested you have a window of time before making your final decision to accept or reject the trade.

Can I use multiple settlement instructions?

Yes. You continue to have access to the same functionality you have through your FX trader, including the ability to select from multiple settlement instructions, which includes wire payments.

What are the minimum system requirements?

Recommended Specifications

  • Processor: 500Mhz
  • Memory: 128 MB Ram
  • Disk space: 1Gb
  • Screen settings: 1024x768 resolution
  • Operating software: Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 SP 2, Win 2000, Win XP

Browser Requirements

  • Netscape browser: versions 7.0 or 7.2
  • Internet Explorer: version 6 or higher

Also required:
Sun Java Runtime for Windows version 5.0 Update 11 (commonly referred to as version 5)

Why is part of the screen blank?

This is likely related to the Java version you are using or the security settings on your Internet browser. Please ensure that you have Java version 5.0 Update 11 (commonly referred to as Version 5). You can check the Java version by going to your Control Panel, clicking on the Java icon, and then clicking the "About" button. A free Java download is available here.

To check security settings for Internet Explorer go to Tools > Internet Options > Security. For Custom Level security, the setting should be Medium, otherwise choose the Default Level.

The TDFX window is too big. How can I make it fit into my screen?

TDFX is best viewed using a 1024x768 resolution. Lower resolution settings such as 800x600 will cause the display to be too big. To change screen resolution follow these steps:

  • If you are logged in, please logout of TDFX and close your Internet Explorer browser(s).
  • Go to the Windows Start menu (usually located in the bottom left hand corner of your screen)
  • Go to Settings, or if no Settings menu, go directly to Control Panel
  • Select Appearances and Themes or if no Appearances and Themes, go directly to Display
  • In the Display Properties box select Settings
  • Go to the Desktop Area or Screen resolution and set the indicator in the Less/More dial to at least 1024x768
  • Click on Apply to view the changes (your screen may flicker on/off, this is normal)
  • Click on OK

I receive an error message when I try to log in. What steps can I take to correct this problem?

Error Message:
“User not authenticated or account locked. Please try again or contact an administrator to reset your password.”

Solution:
This message indicates that the password you are using to login to TDFX does not match our records. Passwords are case sensitive and must contain at least one number and two letters within the first six characters. Contact TDFX Client Services at 1-877-944-5441 for further assistance.

Error Message:
“The user specified is not known to the system.”

Solution:
You are typing your user ID incorrectly. Please re-enter, and ensure it is in capital letters.

Error Message:
“You have exceeded your maximum number of logins. Please logout from one of your existing sessions.”

Solution:
You may have clicked on the “Login” button more than once, which will cause your login attempt to hang onto session. Please call the TDFX Client Services (1-877-944-5441) to delete this session.

How can I add my companies in the pull-down list?

Once you have logged into TDFX, click on the Apply button. The list of companies will appear on the screen. Double click on each of them to add to the pull-down menu.

How can I print a Trade Confirmation?

From the Blotter menu, select FX Trades and click on Apply. Right click on the trade that you would like to print. Select Print and Trade details. A new window will open with your confirmation. Print confirmation by going to your print menu.

What are the password requirements?

When you sign into TDFX for the first time, you will be asked to change your temporary password. Passwords are case sensitive and must be a minimum of six characters with at least one number (numeric character) and two letters (alpha character) within the first 6 characters.

How do I logout of TDFX?

To successfully logout of TDFX, click on the Help/Logout menu and select Logout.
