Our Women in Leadership spotlight series shines a light on some of the many talented women who work on our team and are committed to developing and empowering their female colleagues.

Tatiana Semenova, Vice President of Operations, Municipal Trading, believes the best reward is helping others succeed.

Tatiana Semenova
Vice President of Operations, Municipal Trading

As VP Operations, Municipal Trading, Tatiana worked on an evaluation of our firm's operations infrastructure for our Fixed Income business. She was key in identifying and rectifying inefficacies, scoping opportunities for technology investment or innovation and recommending overall process enhancements. As a result of the evaluation, Tatiana is now responsible for the implementation of new workflows to continuously improve our platform. Her efforts played a large role in our business growth due to the acquisition of Headlands Tech -- a quantitative trading company -- now known as TDS Automated Trading.

What I Do

I work on the integration of TDS Automated Trading into our infrastructure. I also support municipal trading, ensuring that trade flow runs smoothly and efficiently from booking point to settlement.

Proud Moment

I'm proud that I've had the opportunity to meet many inspirational women in senior roles throughout my career who became my informal mentors and close friends. Now I'm thrilled to share my knowledge with future female leaders.

Advice to My Younger Self

Be attentive and supportive. You may not notice this at the time, but a kind word to someone – words of support and encouragement – might change someone's day, week or even life. We are remembered by the way we touch other people's lives. The best reward is to get phone calls from people you worked with a long time ago and hear gratitude for their achievements, thanking you for helping them make a career change, get a better job, or become a better version of themselves.
